How to tell if your phone is on or off

well when you" hang up" button is what I was meaning,,, but I found the manual and that power button should have the option to turn it off its shows that info on page 16 of the manual I posted a link of manual (post#19) . The "quote" came of page 23 maybe it helps.

OK, someone showed me how. You can press the Power button (while the phone is unlocked), hold it for a few seconds and a Phone Options menu will pop up. On that menu is a "Power off" selection.

Is it really that hard to press the power button versus the optical joystick? Either way you've got two choices here, No Lock from the market, or use a one button root like unRevoked and install the joystick wake patch.

I didn't think it was going to be that big a deal, but installed the patch anyway, and its actually kind of nice to wake it on a table from the front.

With the skyraider rom there is an add-on that allows you to wake the phone with the optical joystick.

To power on the phone you have to long press the power button. If you tap the power button quickly, and the phone does not wake, then it is off.

A quick tap of the power button is all mine takes to power on. No long press necessary.
