How to tell if your s4 is unlocked?

Ok so how do I? I know put a sim in from another carrier I don't have one right now. So I hope there's another way.....thanks

Is yours a carrier verison? If so it is most likely locked..

The new real way to test is with another SIM (that I know of).

It is but I got it from a friend and he bought it outright and he used it on straight talk its a att version...

So it may be unlocked. Buying the phone outright doesn't make it unlocked. If it's a carrier version it's locked to them still and has to be unlocked. They usually will do it with no hassle since it was bought fully.

I called att today and got my unlock code... So yes we are unlocked now lol...thanks all
