How to tell which WiFi band you're on?

I have the EVO 3D, and I was wondering if there's an easy way to tell which WiFi band you're on (G or N) when connecting to a network, or even after?

I would like to know this as well. I wish it could connect to 5ghz band

I looked into this when I first got my phone and never came across a definitive answer but was told that the phone will always connect to the N band first (obviously if the router is N capable) and will work backwards (G then B then A).
