How to transfer both Photos and Album Info to my S8?

I have an HTC M8 and trying to figure out most efficient method of transferring my pics (and related Album info) to my new S8.

If it's on Photos it probably is already on the cloud, so no need to do anything there, but for local media, that app will do the trick.

I just used the adapter that came with the S8. It transfered pretty much everything from my S7, and that included all the pics and album data. I don't use cloud storage for that stuff.

Yes but you are going from one samsung to another so it liekly already "understands" your Album hierarchy.
I guess I can try but I wonder how it will understand the break up of my photos being that its coming from an HTC phone.

Smart Switch. It's a Samsung App that's pre-loaded on newer Sammy phones. If you're transferring from another phone or PC or a non-Samsung phone, you can just download it form the Playstore (Android), iTunes (iOS) or Samsung's site (PC/Mac) and done! Open the app, follow the instructions on the screen (for transferring via cable or WiFi) and you're set! Pictures, contacts, data, documents, even apps (just not app data if you're on Android), messages (some phones restrict access to MMS so you can only back up SMS).
