So I saw some people asking about this and didn't see an answer.

I use an app called Quick Settings. It has an on/off button for 3G but it also turns off 4G.

Download it and enjoy.

you are basically turning off all data connection to your phone when doing this.

You will not get any emails/texts or anything when this is off.

People want a toggle that will ONLY turn off 4g and allow them to continue to use 3g when they are not surfing the web or watching video or what have you.

no need to be sorry, i was just explaining what people meant by the "4g toggle"

your method would work if you were ok with all data being off for a certain amount of time.

has anyone tried the beautiful widgets 4g toggle?

none of the current 4g toggles will work. they are all coded to turn off wimax for sprint on an EVO. Someone needs to make one specific to the Thunderbolt and LTE. THey are not the same.

Not sure if I can post the link here but ADC has video on this on YouTube. Just remove the sim card.

nope just 4g.
2g/3g uses cdma and 4g is lte (sim card)
just remove the sim

Pretty sure you need the sim in for both 3G and LTE to work. CDMA doesn't require it, but this device needs it for some reason (at least per the early reviewers).

I'm too tired and lazy to test mine. Anyone else volunteer? :\

Until someone develops a simple toggle:

Open the dialer app :

1) *#*#4636#*#*
2) Phone Information
3) Scroll down to the 2nd drop down box and select the following :

CDMA+LTE/EvDO auto for auto switching between CDMA and LTE

CDMA auto (PRL) for CDMA only
