How to turn off Facebook chat msg notification

Hello all. I'm trying to figure out how to disable the Facebook msgs that pops up on top of my screen (where the time and stuff are) on my galaxy s5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Btw I've just updated to the latest version of Facebook

It should be under App Settings, Notification Settings, Messages (this should not be checked if you want those notifications to go away).

BUT if you have the Messenger app (which, I believe, is mandatory now), you should check that the notifications for this app are also off.

Nope, only notifications. You will still be able to see all of your pending messages once you open the app, it just won't notify you about them when they arrive.
