How to unbrick your soft bricked Evo 4G

If you can boot into recovery, flash any rom with root. If you are trying to go back stock, you cannot flash it from within a custom recovery. You have to rename the file to pc36img and flash from boot loader. If you are getting errors during install, which step is it oon when it does this? Make sure you are using the right one for the hboot you have.

If your pc is saying invalid, it sounds like a bad download. Have you checked to see if the MD5 matches?

Download this app and extract to your desktop. open the app and direct to the rom you have and it will generate a series of numbers and letters ( MD5 ) it should match the one from the roms download link
What rom are you using ?

That's a very old ROM and I don't think it's been supported/updated in a long time. You may want to choose a current rom.
