If the update didn't install yet, it's likely being held in system cache partition. Reboot your phone into recovery and clear/wipe the cache partition. Since you didn't mention what device you have, search Google for how to get into recovery for you device.
A lot of updates are persistent to where your phone will continue to check for/download updates unless you disable auto-update in settings.
