Hello everyone,

I just bought a 6T as a backup / secondary device. I'll be using it only on WiFi, and I'm wondering how I will get OS updates since I won't be getting them from any carrier. Is there a straightforward way for me to download them from OnePlus directly?

Thank you.

Direct download from the OnePlus Download & Update Store, so long as you are not on the dreaded T-Mobile variant in which case you will need a SIM card as they are carrier branded OTA updates only...

Alternatively, if you are on T-Mobile (USA), you can convert your phone to the global model...

Thank you... I suppose that if I take the SIM out of my primary phone and temporarily put in the OnePlus 6T, I'll be able to get the latest OS update from T-mobile, right? And I don't think there's any problem with temporarily moving my SIM , then moving it back, is there?
