There is a workaround though. If you lock your screen rotation to portrait it won't rotate the screen if you hold it so the right side, which normally has the shutter, is on the left. I forgot the stock camera doesn't do this since I keep my rotation locked 90% of the time anyway.

That's actually pretty smart, lol.. And works nicely if you're running a ROM that let's you stick the rotation lock toggle in your pulldown Nice one!

Thanks for the tip. I'll try this out and see how long I can go without auto rotate. Maybe I won't miss autorotate at all.. Anyway, has this even come up? I'm not left handed, but I can't believe not one left hander found this annoying.

I personally hate auto rotate because I find that if I'm viewing the phone at an angle at all, it decides to rotate into landscape mode. The only time I ever really want my phone in landscape is if I'm watching a video of some kind, maybe maps.

But again, that being said I have a simple toggle widget for it on one of my homescreens, so if I need it to rotate it is just a tap away.
