I have an SD card installed in my Tab S3, but can't locate information on how to assign files to it, or how to view what is stored there without removing it to my PC.
Thanks

You should be able to see it on the MY FILES app already in your tablet. As for getting files onto it, you can either manually copy/move them with the same app or you will have to go to each app's settings depending on what you want to do.

For instance, if you want the camera to store pictures on SD card instead of internal memory (I do NOT recommend that... seriously), you must change that setting on the Camera app. If you want Spotify to save offline data to SD card, then you have to go to its settings and change it there. Bear in mind that not all apps support SD cards.

Thank you both! I'm on it.
I expect to take a ton of shots on the next trip.
Cheers,

BTW, SpookDroid, why do you not recommend storing the photos directly to the SD card?
Thanks

SD Cards are unreliable. Just browse the forums for 'Corrupted SD card' or 'Lost my Pictures, stored in SD card'. From personal experience, I already lost a day and a half of pictures on a trip to the mountains because the SD card failed and I didn't have WiFi to back up to the cloud (Note 2). Then had two more SD cards 'fried' by other Samsung phones and that's when I called it quits.

My advice is save directly to internal memory, and once you're certain they have been backed up elsewhere, then move to SD card. It's safer.

cheap SD cards do fail my best advice use something like google photos to back up that way you won't lose them

All of my Sandisk & Samsung Micro SD cards are reliable. Just make sure you purchase from a legitimate vendor & test the card before use. If you still experience a failure, there are plenty of free tools that can recover data.

Oh dear I'm directly saving all my photos on SD card, but when I'm on WiFi, they are automatically uploaded to my OneDrive account.

Yes, the problem is for example we travel and we took photos and no wifi, any SD card failure will ruin all photos taken hehe
