The little square on the bottom right of the screen brings up all the screens I have visited which seem s to be unnecessarily using memory. I can delete each one individually but I can't work out how to delete the lot in one go. Isn't there a way?

I can assure you that it is not using memory. It is a feature built into Android. It is actually quite useful :)

Thanks . even if its not using much memory how can delete it all in one go ?

Wait until Google updates Android, or install a custom rom. I have that feature on mine.

You just swipe them to the left or right of the screen..

There is a memory issue with Android 5.0 that causes the home screen to redraw and apps to close or reset. Were hoping for a fix in the next bump, which is rumored to be 5.1.

You can't delete them all in one shot unfortunately. You have to do it one at a time by swiping them off the screen.

Thanks . seems silly doesn't it.

Yes it does. They should have a little x or something in the corner to remove all at once. That's the thing about stock android often times it's missing a lot of little helpful options.
I will never go back to Samsung though, so I guess it is on what it is.
