How will you transition to your S22

As we all wait with anticipation for next week thoughts of getting everything from our old device to the new one comes to mind. I have a procedure of my own to make the transition as smooth as possible but I am curious of what other people do to get this accomplished. Here's what I'll do going from my Note 10+ to my S22U.

1st I pull the (Verizon) sim card from the new device. I then put it on my wifi because the new device always needs to update smart switch for some reason. I then have smart switch transfer everything with the cable because while everyone else has been checking on there tracking numbers every hour I've been cleaning up, organizing, saving settings and checking my apps to see if I want to replace them with new ones. Once done I'll check my settings, sounds, logins etc. to get it as close to my S10+ as I can so I won't be fumbling around with the S22U. Then I put the sim card back in the S22U and do the switch over. As for the Note 10+ I'll leave it as it is for a few days just incase I missed something then It'll be a full wipe with the encryption on a couple times before I send it in. The SD card goes into my S8 and I'm done.

So how will you do it?

I'll set up my Samsung account, Google account, and phone number when I get it but I usually wait until I have a day off to truly set up everything else. Downloading all the apps. Setting up the folders. Disabling and Uninstaller apps I won't use. If it's a lot, the process can take a few hours.

I bought a USB C Flash Drive to use to transfer my photos, ringtones, pdfs, etc. Or do it through the computer like I used to. Whichever will work best.

After unboxing it and powering it up to make sure there's no damage or marks on the phone and everything works as best as I can tell at this stage I'll remove the factory fitted screen protector and fit the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector and the dBrand Black Dragon Back Skin onto the phone.

Then I back up to Samsung Cloud via my current phone and then when setting up my Samsung Galaxy s²² Ultra I'll use that recent back up which will move across what I need to.

Although in regards to apps I sometimes omit them from the back up and individually download them from the library in my Playstore.

After the set up is completed I sometimes then clear the phone's system cache files.

https://forums.androidcentral.com/e...lear-the-cache-on-my-device%2F&token=RVomY-EJ You may need to hook up to a Computer or insert your earphones to enter into recovery mode.

I do not use OneDrive but instead use Dropbox where all my photo's are.

I prefer not to use Smartswitch.

As I choose not to trade in or sell my current phone the Fold³ will not be factory reset but instead be used at home as a mini tablet.

For me it's the Whitestone Dome Glass Screen Protector and the Black Swarm dBrand skin. Which will go on when I peel off the factory plastic.

Start from scratch...load apps via the play store, load documents I currently have on my 4XL to the S22 via the laptop update. Might do a copy over from the 4XL for SMS texts. Put it in a case, put on a cheap TPU screen saver that will be changed out to a Whitestone, only after I decide I will keep the phone.

Question: how do you transfer the whatsapp chat history from iphone to a samsung phone, they have tutorials but when I did from my 12pro max to my pixel 6 pro (which I've returned since), it was a headache, it gave me errors and took me countless tries to do, any tips on this?

I won't know til I start setting it up honestly. Sometimes I use a C-C cable to transfer directly between phones. Sometimes I start from scratch without using a backup. Sometimes wireless transfer between 2 phones. I have so many phones, and there are so many ways to transfer data I'll do whatever hits my mood that day.

I'm only taking my contacts and pics. I'll probably do wireless. I take a screenshot of my app drawer, just to remember what I had on my phone and download what I want from scratch.

I've accumulated a lot of junk these past 18mos, so over the next few days I'll be cleaning out old apps, contacts, docs, etc. Then I'll do a back up and use Smart Switch.

Every time I get a new phone I pretty much start from scratch, aside from importing contacts from the cloud. Part of the fun is setting up the new device, and it helps me shed some of the apps I no longer use.
