What is the proper procedure to replace the stock sdcard in my tbolt? (S-off stock rom)

Turn the phone off, take out the battery and take the old SD card out and put the new one in just like you would with any other device. If you want to save your pictures and what not just use a computer to copy the contents. over.

What about the folders devoted to individual apps. Will the tbolt create needed folders automatically? What about apps that allowed "move to sdcard"?

I'd rather not just copy everything if I don't have to in case something on the original card is messed up.

I've also read somewhere that if the sdcard is used first in a computer it is then recognized as an external drive and not a tbolt card?

The SD card will always be recognized as a external drive, which isn't an issue. If the phones off and all the files are moved inappropriately when the phone is booted back up it will act as like nothings different. If a certain app does make use of SD storage, it will create new apps. Out of curiosity why are you looking to replace the 32gb card?

Once you reboot your phone, the ICON for apps that resided on your SD card and are no longer there will revert to the DEFAULT Android Icon (similar looking to the MARKET one).

If you want to take the time, copy all your files from the SD card to the computer and then put the new card in the phone and see what folders it automatically creates, then transfer from your PC to your new SD card (when hooked up to the computer) the files that you want into the known folders.

But, like Mordecaidrake asked......why are you replacing the card?

If I decide to return the phone I want the sd card to be stock configuration. I will keep the original card.

Then you won't be worried about apps to SD. Simply remove the card. Boot up the phone with no card and factory reset it. Then insert the blank replacement card. Return the blank phone.

Worwig is correct, put a blank card in the phone after a factory reset and the phone will format it as needed.

In addition, you don't really need to buy a new card just to have a blank card in there. You can also just format the card using the phone's own tools (Menu, Settings, SD and Phone Storage). Simply unmount the card, then select the "Erase SD Card" option. Then you can do the "Factory Reset" and your phone will be restored to factory-fresh.

If you're concerned that someone could read the contents of the card, you can always move it to a PC, format it, write enough junk data to it that will fill the card, and format it again. That will make sure each sector was filled with garbage and re-wiped. If anyone can get data off the card after all that, they're the kind of people who would have remote access to the card 24/7 anyway (depending on the thickness of the tinfoil in your cap). :D
