How would you rate the Honor 8 on a scale of 1-10?

I would give it a 9. If the camera was as good as Note 5 or Galaxy S6, then I would've given it a 10. Seems like lots of people don't like the software, but I don't mind it. I like some of the native apps and features. Finger print scanner is amazing. Hardware is great. It's fast and the battery life has been pretty good. I have the white version and I think it looks great. The size is perfect for me. And for me, I love that it has onscreen buttons. I had the Note 5 and it was awesome, but I just couldn't stand the home button. I thought it was the size of the phone, but when I used Galaxy S6, I realized it was the home button that was bothering me. I think it has something to do with having to physically press down the button.

Anyways, I thought about getting a LG G5, but we know how reliable LG phones have been. I was able to purchase Honor 8 for the Black Friday pricing, so really, I should give it a 10.

Definitely a 9 for the price and the quality of the this phone. Have been use to using a Nexus 6 and Note 5, the only thing missing is Honor offering this phone in a 5.5" or 5.7" version with the same battery life as this phone. I guess the closest thing to that would be the new Mate 9 or Mate 9 Pro, but the prices of those 2 would change the value vs what you get for the money, very pleased with the Honor 8 no problems whatsoever after 2 months.

I can say with confidence I've had:
No crashing
No restarting
No lagging
No missed connections
No call drops
No wifi or data stops
No odd bugs
No issues with quality

Any small annoyance is easily overwhelmed by the best rounded experience the 8 provides.

I second you on liking the Honor 8 software. I cannot seem to understand why people don't enjoy this software. It's a very easy and seamless interface experience and it's a awesome change from stock or pure Android.

Speaking of the color you mentioned you have. The Pearl White. Do you mind posting a pic of yours? I'm highly considering selling my 32g Black and getting the 64g Pearl White. I'm not for sure but I've hardly seen any live photos of this color in the Honor 8. What made you go with that color over the Midnight Black and Sapphire looking Blue. I've owned both the Blue and Black and I think the Blue in person slightly won out over the Midnight Black but by just a hair. I've not seen the Pearl color in person but knowing myself like I do, I would not be surprised of I just kept my Black and purchased a Pearl color version in a 32g too just to change up in a rotation type deal. I love everything about the Honor 8. Especially the stock software. It's the most enjoyable software I've yet to use. I just hope the 5.0 isn't too pure Android. I love things that are different and that don't follow conventional trends.

I'll try to post some pics of the phone tomorrow. I thought the white stood out little more. I was a big fan of the Sony Xperia Z3 look and I thought Honor 8 was pretty close to it.

Yeah, I realized I'm not a big fan of stock android. Yes, you can download the apps, but sometimes, the native apps just work better. I've generally liked all the skins from HTC, Samsung and LG. When I used Moto X or Nexus, I always felt something was missing and had a hard time finding just the right app. I agree with you. I'm hoping the 5.0 isn't pure android. But I do like have an app drawer, so I like that they are adding that option.

I really love my Honor 8. I haven't been this happy with a phone since my Nexus 4 was new.

EMUI is awesome, once you get used to the notification shade style, customize your themes and launcher, etc, I prefer it to the stock experience at this point. Huawei's feature set is among the best, and for the price you can't beat it. I wouldn't spend more on anything else that's on the market at the moment. This is why I give it a 10. You might find a slightly better processor, or a better camera, or a siri clone at twice the money... But when you factor in cost, is it worth it? I say no. This phone is not, in any way a compromise. The top of line phones on sale right now just aren't much better. If you're coming in from any top-tier phone from 1 or 2 years ago, this will be a big improvement. Even if you're coming from one of today's top-tier phones, you'd be amazed this was only half the cost...

Just my 2 cents, not "the best at everything". But anything more expensive than this is a ripoff.

Here's some pics of my phone. I have a tempered glass protector and a skin on the back.

Definitely give it an 8 or 9 rating out of 10. The package as whole is solid and the price is just good value. Not many short comings.. Even the software which so many complain about is actually not that bad. Really enjoying this device!

I've tested a lot of phones over the past year and half. When I say a lot like seriously over 10 devices. Some having had twice. Those were Samsung that I owned twice trying to force myself to like their software which is the worst on the high end market. The Honor 8 is easily equal to the iPhone 6s which used to be my favorite phone. I bought my Honor 8 for $349 and I should have waited and got it for $299 or went with the 64g. That being said and saying that it's equal to the 6s which is what $700 plus with 128g like I had, I'd rate this honor 8 an easy 8 plus or it may even pull in a 9 just barely. I have enjoyed Honor's software interface as it's a hybrid of Android and IOS which give the interface a smooth and seamless interaction. Performance is plenty good on this device and screen resolution is good too. I've not found one deal breaker on the Honor 8 and that's saying a lot going through as many phones as I have since leaving Apple last year. I can tell you I prefer the Honor over my Nexus 6p which is why the Honor is my main go to phone. I have two numbers so I keep two phones. At the moment I'm looking to replace my 6p with something else as I enjoy trying different devices. The Honor 8 is a keeper and it's refreshing and a nice change from typical Android and typical IOS. The 5.2 screen size can be debated but personally as a daily phone I wouldn't want anything any larger. I think they kept it 5.2 knowing that this size is as big as you can go if the device is to be practical for a daily driver. I know my 6p is hard to lug around and keep in my pocket. Personally my favorite size is 5.0 inches but the Honor 8 feels a lot like a 5.0 phone for some reason. For me to totally leave apple and to say this device is every bit as equal to the iPhone 6s is saying a lot from my point of view personally. I'm still a huge apple fan. No conpany makes a better tablet experience than apple hands down. Android phones that I think are great would be the Honor, Motorola and the Google line since Moto and Google keep it mostly pure Android. Samsung touch wiz is the worst choppy and sticky OK interface of all Android high ends. Anyways the honor 8 gets a 8 plus or a close 9 here for my vote. A big part of my vote was due to the software interface. There is simply nothibg on the market like EMUI and I'm one to promote different and unique. Honor 8 didn't follow a trend and made their software by using innovation and when I see or find that, I'm immediately a huge supporter. Being different and unique is who I am as long as it's done with taste and a lot of thought behind. You get that with the Honor 8.

Thank you for this amazing rate and review. I definitely agree with you. The Honor 8 seems to be very unique and appealing because, by nature, it is different from what's out there.

Also, I do like the 5.2" display. I've had 5.2" with the Nexus 5 and 5.5" with the LG G3; and I decided to go back a bit with ordering the Honor 8. I think 5.2" is a perfect size - sometimes, even a 5.5" device seems a little clunky to carry around! At least for me, anyway!

Also, you've got a good line-up of daily drivers there! The Nexus 6P is amazing!

It's just personal preference. My wife is using a 4" screen now and she doesn't want to use a larger screen.

List higher range phones I in past yearish:

1. Nexus 6p
2. Galaxy S6
3. Note 7(😥💣)
4. Honor 8
5. Pixel

The Honor 8 compares VERY favorably within that group, no matter what category. Which is even more impressive given it costs $200-$550 less than those flagships.

If I had to rank them in order:
-Note 7^^^^
-Pixel/6P
-Honor8*
-GS6

^^^^Assuming it was still a viable device

*Based on the beta Nougat on my Honor (from you know where)

Definitely agree with you. The Honor 8 can certainly hold its own in comparison to flagship devices.
