How you change ringtone for text msg?

I know how to select ringtones for text message but how do you pick a custom one? I download several ringtones I would like to use for my text message notifiication I see no place on selecting that ringtone? You have to make a folder or something??

/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones/

place it there, i believe this should work.

otherwise, just load the music onto your sdcard anywhere you want. get astro file manager if you don't have it, its crucial. use astro to view your sdcard and just open the song you want. stock music player will open up with it and there is a menu option to "set as ringtone"

make a folder on your sd card named "notifications". put all the tones you want to use as email or text tones in that folder and you're done
