How's everyone's battery life doing?

I only left two or three apps open to run in the background and it definitely improved my battery life. Especially the stand by or sleep time. When I first got it the drain overnight was bad. After I optimized it it barely drains any now overnight. Quite a difference. When I'm using it heavy though it'll drain pretty quick but I guess that happens to all batteries. Sometimes I'll use my phone more heavy than other times and I'll notice the drain it takes on my battery.

More heavy usage in the phone the battery will indeed drain faster. I can make my phone last longer if I do simple tasks and not so much videos watching

That's good to hear that you were able to optimize to get better battery life

Oh that can really kill the battery
Yeah I've noticed that. I'll be at 100 percent and before I know it I'm down to 50 percent but only under continued use but I typically do this in spurts say like being on this forum. When I get on I'll stay on for a little while then put it down to come back later and do it over again. But like overnight I get hardly any drainage now. At first it was draining overnight rapidly. It's odd they don't ship you the phone to be as optimized as it can be out of the box. You'd think that would be standard but no you have to go into settings and dig for the function or on some phones it only allows you to do it one app at a time. The honor allows you to shut them all down at once where my 6p I had to go to one app at a time to shut it off from running in the background which is a major pain but the reward is huge as battery life is twice a good after optimizing your apps to not run in the background. To be honest I don't see the need to have to continue to keep running in the background anyway. I would think phones would be made to have the highest standard for optimization as possible. Speaking of that I think that is why IOS rune so well and is so efficient. Apps shut down after a certain time upon closing them where Android keeps theirs running unless you find the setting to shut them off. The iPhone 8 only has a 1900 amp battery but the battery life is great lasting over a full day on one charge. Then it is faster than Android but only runs off of 2 gigs of RAM vs Android having double and triple that in ram so I don't understand why people say that Android is just as efficient as IOS is. It's not true at all. Think if our honor 8 ran off of only 2gigs of ram. Our performance would be horrible compared to how good it is now. I'm not exactly sure how Apple does it but they definitely have a more efficient optimized software. I'm not sure if that's why it runs so butter smooth or not either. I have never experienced lag with IOS or EMUI but I definitely have with Samsung's flagships. Even Moto phones I've experienced lag. I honestly don't know how huawei honor is able to place such a heavy skin on top of Android which is so heavy that it totally transforms the software to not be like Android at all but yet they've some how done it and the honor runs as smooth as IOS with absolutely zero lag. I've never experienced any lag with any of my honor phones. No choppy or sticky experience. Apps open up immediately and the phone never stutters. Not even if you have multiple apps open in your task menu too. Does anyone know what honor does differently than say like Samsung's touchwiz which is notorious for lagging and stutter. Even the S8 lagged and stuttered and it ran off the 835 Snapdragon and had four gigs of RAM and their skin is nowhere near as heavy as EMUI. So what does Huawei honor do differently than Samsung that gives you a smooth no lag at all experience at half the cost of what a Samsung flagship runs you? Anyone have any ideas or knowledge on this? I'm very curious of why EMUI runs like IOS and not like a lot of the other laggy Android phones I've used before notable being samsungs finest still lagging and bogging down under just normal usage. Is it just that huawei honor makes a superior optimized device over Samsung or is it something else that creates touchwiz to lag so badly even on Samsung's best phones. When I say lag or choppy and sticky it's not like it's just awful but it's very noticeable compared to EMUI. That's another reason why I never quite understood why so many people did not like EMUI. I mean this phone runs as smooth as butter with absolutely zero stutter. I'm amazed by it compared to other Android phones so I would love to know what Huawei honor does so differently than the majority of other Android devices where you no doubt get that stutter or that occasional lag with it being more choppy and sticky than butter smooth like honors software. I would love to know how honor does it. Their devices are extremely optimized far superior to that of any Samsung device.

Good question regarding the Samsung... No idea though as to why.

With the big money Samsung is pulling in, you'll figured they'll worked on optimizing their software better.

They are probably using the resources on updates whereas Huawei isn't updating some phones and using that money to optimize others
