How's it going??

New guy here I previously owned a blackberry and a pre and got bored with them both. Decided to get the hero and it's pretty amazing anything I should do to make it better??? My buddy told me to root it but really not sure what that means?

I also came from a blackberry to the Hero, and at first I loved it. However, over time, the performance was beginning to irritate me, and I almost regretted leaving my berry. I had thought about rooting, but the idea of "hacking" my phone troubled me for a while.
However, now that I have rooted, I couldnt be happier! I *HIGHLY* recommend putting gbhil's Gumbo ROM on your hero, you won't be disappointed
