How's the screen resolution on the Mate 9?

So was a long time user of the honor 8 and I've been wanting the mate 9 but I've been unsure because of such a large screen with only 1080p and the price point. At this price I would totally expect that Huawei had done a Quad display. Hard to believe they didn't. What have you guys found with the mate having 1080p?

It's a wonderful screen. It's super bright and crisp. Very deep blacks and punchy colors. I actually prefer it to many of the 2k displays

Thanks! I appreciate the response. I wondered if it suffered but it sounds like it doesn't. That's good to know. I really want to pick one up pretty soon.

I really cant' tell a difference from the higher quality screens. On my S8+, to save some battery life, I have it set at the same resolution as the Mate 9, so it didn't matter to me that the S8 had a better screen and it doesn't matter that the Mate 9 doesn't. It's perfect just how it is.

The screen is beautiful, I don't know what kind of magic they use but it's truly impressive. First thing I did when I got mine was pull off the screen protector, this phone has a great coating that resists fingerprints.

Dconn, why not try it out in stores and see what you think about the display? I mean, most are fine with it but if it bothers you then why buy it just to return it due to this?
