How's your wifi connection on Note 3?

Well, that's not going to work well. WiFi Power Save OFF chews through battery at 2 times the normal rate. I turned it back on again - but I never have an issue with WiFi anyway.

If On then speed will be slow. Check it via speed test.

I get 31mb down and 11mb up when tested in both scenarios. That's the actual throughput speed of my connection here at home at all times and I have always had that speed on the Note 3 (shows same on my firewall) .

I used to get the "unstable internet connection" message, but I changed my DNS server configuration on my WAP's and that problem went away. It wasn't a Note 3 WiFi issue and I am pretty it's generally not, in any case.

I don't think the speed has anything to do with WiFi power save mode. WiFi Power save may affect other things, but in my case, it has nothing to do with download or upload speeds.

Okay. Fine.

I am so frustrated with the speed that I get on my Note 3! Every other device I have averages around 50 mbps. My note 3 averages between 0.3-3.0 mbps. I have the Asus AC66U router. I have added mac filters for my devices, played with the settings suggested, all to no avail. Last night I did put the note into safe mode and this increased the speed to about 20mbps...any ideas of what apps might be causing the problem and how should I go about fixing it? Desperate!

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

There are possibly simliar issue to nthe Iphone aerial located around the phone rim. The Note 3 is not but how you hold it does chage the quality of reception, flat in your palm on hands free is usually OK or avoaid holding it like a tennis racket with a full pal grip and use your fingers. Youc anls buy small stick on aerial boosters to stic to the actual battery which creates an extra boosting field for the phones Aerial if still having issues. I had on not great one and got a brand new replacement after 15 months of using the Phone on the fair use and 2 year warranty (law or gurantee, either works fine) and Samsung were happy to change it and mine has been fine since. I too changed to wifi searhc settings of autoscan, and set in only frequent wifi locations and manually scanned if i wantted to and this works ok eve though the Note 3 (2nd one) was fine anyway. A lot of mobile networks in one area and then added multiple wifi signals can simply keep the phone scanning and hopping from one wifi signal to another until signed in to one of them. Best to turn off wifi until you are going to actually use it on all phones anyway to conserve battery life and stop the phone getting laggy due to occupying the CPU with wifi scanning and trying to gind one of your remembered networks constantly. :-)

Just purchased note 3 and still own iPhone 5. So, I have tried everything mentioned in this thread and also reset sim card. In my home I also own a Verizon Network Extender and have my iPhone plus note 3 tied to extender. I am at a loss as to why my note 3 drops calls on a regular basis where my iPhone does not. I called Verizon Tech Support and after 30 minutes was hung up on. I love the note 3 but am frustrated it can't make/receive calls on regular consistent basis. Any ideas? Thanks

Flower Mound TX. And what is odd, I turn on 4G and text plus calls etc go through as they should. If I don't enable data while at my house, I never receive texts with pictures attached. But, iPhone receives as it should. Thank you

So, I have been doing more trial/error today. My signal strength (in my house) with the VZ Network Extender is all over the place. Earlier it was at -68dBM, and as of now, -116dBM, both readings from note 3. Not sure if iPhone has option to read signal strength like this but I have both phones in front of me right now. iPhone, full bars/strength. Note3, 2 bars. Looks like I might be returning note 3 to BB if I can't get this figured out. Any suggestions? TY

I was having the same issues at home. I went out and got a new router to try. I purchased a Linksys router with wireless AC. The wifi has been great with a new router. I know it sucks to do, but I tried everything else to fix it.

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

My WiFi is just fine, however, every time I restart my Note3 it automatically starts with WiFi turned on. This is a new issue all of a sudden and I've tried everything i could think of.....it's annoying!!! Help!

I figured out my problem today...

Settings/Connections/More networks/Mobile networks/Connections optimizer

Shut off connection optimizer. Stops it from looking at other networks once you are locked in. I have been having issues with it not allowing me to stay on a wifi connection for a while. I recently bought a sport video camera... Drift Ghost-S
It has wifi capability that allows you to use an app to run the camera. It would pick up the cameras wifi then after about 15-20 seconds drop that connection and go back to my home wifi.

Stays where i put it now.

I'm on Sprint

Re: How's your wifi connection on note3?

I have the exact same issue. I have unchecked the Auto network switch yet my Note3 randomly turns off the wifi when it should be on and it almost never reconnects to a wifi that I have connected to before. My Galaxy mini does not have this issue at all on the same networks. I am starting to really hate my note3.
