According to fresh internet rumours, HP is planning to address the faltering PC market by producing its own 10-inch Android tablet.
As spotted by German website TabTech, a mysterious device called the HP SlateBook 10 X2 has made an appearance on the listings of benchmark site AnTuTu.

The HP SlateBook 10 X2 apparently sports a 10.1-inch display and a brand new quad-core Nvidia Tegra 4 CPU clocked at 1.8GHz. It's said to run on Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean.

The launch of a high-end 10-inch tablet on HP's part follows on from its attempts to crack the budget 7-inch market currently dominated by the Google Nexus 7 and the Amazon Kindle Fire HD 7.0.

HP Slate 7 Out Now
The HP Slate 7 is available from today for just ?129, which is a fair chunk cheaper than it aforementioned rivals.

For that money you get a 7-inch 1,024 x 600p HD IPS screen, a 1.6GHz dual-core ARM Cortext-A9 processor with 1GB of RAM, 8GB of storage and a microSD slot for memory expansion - a notable feature that those same rivals lack.
