Hello,

I recently bought an HP Sprocket Printer. It works fine if you print photos via the Sprocket application, but some photo apps, like "F-Stop Photo Gallery" have PRINT in the file menu. The Print command takes you to a screen where you select a printer, and the Sprocket printer isn't listed.

But the Tab A 8 has the HP print service installed. Should that be the same as a printer?

Since Android is a bit different from Windoze, I'm not sure how to go about enabling a printer, service, or virtual printer.

Install Cloud Print and set it up to use the Sprocket. Then print (share) with the app. Share to Cloud Print and it will print whatever you're "sharing".

I don't like sending my photos across the Internet just to print them. You might not be in an area with WiFi either, so it has to be a Bluetooth-only solution, which is why you'd buy a 'mobile printer.'

In this case, once you have the Sprocket application installed, you can "share" the photo directly to the Sprocket app, and print, just like it was a desktop printer connected a Windoze PC. I'd say that most photo viewers have a sharing ability.

I contacted HP to request that they create a "printer driver" of some sort for Android, so you can print directly to the mobile printer bypassing the "sharing" business.

What I'd really like t see is a bigger printer! One with 3x5 inch prints. I would use it even if it was BIG because of it's bigger battery and a bigger paper bin.
