HRM a little too high

I've noticed that the HRM runs quite higher than reality. My resting heart rate is usually about 55 BPM. I constantly get about 72+ on this thing. Lol. I was at the gym on an elliptical and my heart rate was 122. Watch said 137. So basically, the GPS seems pretty accurate, steps and stairs are solid. But I wouldn't give the calories much credit...Since it thinks your heart rate is much higher than it is. Something a software update could easily fix this!

The watch needs to be quite tight on your wrist in order to have any degree of accuracy and, even then, there will be a lot to be desired.

A couple of interesting articles:

It's OK that optical HR tech isn't perfect, but we'd like a bit more honesty

I wear it as tight as it can be. It actually fits my wrist quite perfectly. Doesn't move around and is very comfortable. It gets a pulse everytime. It just skews quite high.

i have to agree the hrm is so bad I am looking at alternatives.

Running I usually hit 140 bpm .. tonight s3 had be at 185 bpm.

Sitting watching tv I was 100 bpm.

Compared to my hrm strap im have and several gym equipment, the s3 is just way over the top.

I have tried it slack, tight, and even twisted so it reads my wrist - but no luck.

Hope a software fix sorts it :(

FWIW, I like to play with new toys (and, as an IT person, it is helpful for my job as well), so when the LG Watch Urbane first came out I picked one up and tried it for about three months.

I had the same problem with its HRM; it never agreed with my Wahoo Tickr chest strap (Heart Rate Monitors | Wearable Bluetooth HR Trackers | Wahoo) and was usually off by a substantial amount, whether on the treadmill or sitting at my desk.
