Hello, this is my first Android phone and I'm coming from an iPhone so most things look different :P.. I'm wondering if there are any apps that are amazing to have or that anyone thinks you should have. :)

It really depends on what you are looking to do. What apps did you use on the iPhone that you either must have on Android or really miss? Perhaps that'll help us help you with apps :).

Android Device Manager (from Google): tracks your phone if you lose it. Install before you need it!;

Call Confirm: not necessary, but useful if you're prone to pocket-dialing;

Gsam Battery Monitor: if you care about tracking your battery stats;

Google Keyboard, or Swype, Or SwiftKey: I didn't care for the stock keyboard (currently using Google Keyboard) but it's a matter of taste;

Our Groceries: shopping list app I've been using for years;

Google Opinion Rewards: get from Google for answering brief surveys ($ is credit in Google Play store). I've racked up over $60 in just over a year;

Textra: if you want to try out a different messaging app, Textra is a good one;

Waze: excellent navigation app with real-time traffic and police reports.

Thanks! This is what I was looking for. Some of other peoples favorites :)

I really like an app called ivy. Ivy let's you swipe in from the edge of the screen to access a ribbon with frequently used apps and contacts. It can take a bit to get the swipe motion down, but the app seems to update pretty regularly, and the developer has added several options in the short while I've had it. One of the things i really like is being able to change the colour of the ribbon.

I use almost all the ones that Sturmx mentioned along with Audible for audio books and Amazon music for all the music I have purchased over the years. I like Swype for my keyboard. I like Touchpal with the always on number row but I find it not very accurate.

Ended up returning the HTC 10 and got a S7 Edge. These apps are still amazing though! Especially the grocery list!.. Now I can add things to my wife's grocery list on the fly. Haha!

Ha! I did the opposite (from S7 Edge to the 10). Glad you liked the grocery app. Considering how much I've used it over the years I got the paid version. Besides, had a lot of Google credit to burn from the Opinion Rewards.
