Htc 10 new owner some questions and issues

Hello fellow Htc 10 owners and fans,

i have some questions and issues at the same time and hopefully you can help me out. I come from a BlackBerry Priv and needed a smaller and lighter phone. I also wanted Aluminium. So i am a new Htc customer and have some issues.

1. I dont like Gmail and use Htc mail. The first thing i noticed i cant show/download images in my mails? How can i do that automatically without always doing it manually?

2. double tap to sleep doesnt work, while double tap to wake does. Is that normal or am i the only one experiencing this?

3. how can i get the latest camera update? Mine is still stuck on the previous one and nothing on the play store so far.

4. the Htc uses Led notification, but i cant choose which app should get which colour. I know it depends on the app if it has that option, but can i let my different mail accounts have different led colours? Or the messaging app? I know whatsapp has that option, but i was spoiled with the BlackBerry Priv in that regard.

Open the Mail app, tap Menu>Settings, and see if there is an option to automatically download images. You might have to select the email account first. It's a common option on stock email apps, but I can't be sure if it's on HTC's, since I don't have a 10 to test.

I dont think double tap to sleep is a function. If it was you'd get lots of accidental sleeps when using the phone.

Apparently it is not available and i searched thoroughly. If i google it, there are posts from 2014 and earlier, so i thought maybe the changed it, but it looks like they dont have it.

It is though, in the motion gestures it says so. You can clogg it on or off so i wanted to try it out, but for some reason it does nothing. I didnt expect it at the beginning, but when i watched a review and there it worked fine.

Yeah i either double swipe to unlock, or double tap to wake up and just get a view on my lockscreen

I did a quick test and the double tap to sleep worked for me. It only works on the lock screen and no where else unfortunately.

Double swipe is for activating there camera.

If you have an unlocked phone it should be on the latest camera software. If you bought through a carrier, it may not.

it is a function... the double tap to sleep is wonky tho... it works sometimes but mainly from the lockscreen... double tap to wake pretty much works all the time tho. double tap to sleep works flawlessly with the ice view case, if you were interested in it

idk y no one answered this for u but the 10 only has the green light for notification and red for low battery.... u can't change the color only when it flashes and for what apps you want it to flash for

Thanks. Ah well, i thought there were 4 or 5 colours, that would have been nice, since i was used to that and knew what colour was for which app/account. I dont know why, but i confused it with the Galaxy S7 i think.

why are u swiping? All u do is rest your finger on the finger print sensor and it wakes and unlock the phone... a lot of ppl that comes from samsung and a few other phones don't realize it's not an actual button so no need to press down and then hold your finger

I just dont use the fingerprint sensor currently. Call me old fashioned, but i dont like that thing. Will use it in the future probably

The fingerprint reader is one of the main reasons I no longer use the M9. It is a trade off because I think the M9 sounds better but if it had the fingerprint reader, I would still be using it.
