Guys, I just upgraded from my almost 3 years old great HTC One M8 to the HTC 10 and the Wifi range and speed is very, very weak. I used to be able to watch videos on my bed or in the kitchen (I live in a small apartment and the Wifi router is in the middle) but with the 10 I have terrible speed, the Wifi symbol only shows one line and navigating the internet is a crawl... Everything worked perfectly on the M8...
is there something I can do to fix this?

Also, the Bluetooth range is very poor as well (2 meters, tops) and the proximity sensor dosent work very well because if I take my ear 1 cm of the phone the screen turns on and I click on stuff without wantig to (mute the calls, turn them off, etc), which is also very annoying.

Can someone please help?

Thank you :)

Does it happen with any wi-fi network, or just your home network?

There's been a lot of talk about WiFi on the 10, some suggesting the antenna placement is poor coupled with the metal body affecting performance. My experience is different however, I'd say range and speed is on a par with my M8 with speed probably better on the 10. This is on 2.5ghz network. You could perhaps experiment with router settings and also WiFi settings on the device ( WiFi optimization on or off ) . Bluetooth has been fine and connects to my car without fail, have not really tested the range though as have no need to.

Thanks, I'll try that when I get home.

I found the 2.5 setting made a difference for the better on my 10.

was talking about changing the phone wifi setting to 2.4. I did this when on marshmallow and it helped immensly. night and day difference on being able to hold the connection. The setting was under advanced in wifi settings. alas, I see it is no longer there and not entirely sure if Verizon kiboshed it or the nougat update. I did vetify mine is still set at 2.4 so good for me but not helping your issue. check under advanced and see if the option is there. Could be if you're in a diff country and not on Verizon.

Option is nothing there. Must have been the Nougat update. Thanks anyway :)

Same thing here. Can have my 10 and m8 side by side and the 8 gets way better reception. Not much you can do about it. Changing your wifi to 2.4ghz will help, as that frequency travels better through walls.

My Wi-Fi is already on that band. I'll have to buy a repeater. The problem is outside my house

Agreed M8 had better wifi and Bluetooth hardware ..it's not just you...try forcing 2.4ghz. And also maybe enforcing static IP for the 10 in the router might also help...
