HTC 2150 + Dremel + VZW Red Case

But unlike your x wifes you could spend all day with this phone and still want to touch it the next day..well worth the $~

You just made my day, I would never treat my phone poorly and she never leaves my side. LOL

Yes they do my friend, yes they do... I have the 2150 now and I just pre-ordered the Seidio 3500. It looks like the 3500 will fit under the 2150 door. How cool would that be. The 2150 is 2x thicker than the 1300. The seidio 1750 was the same thickness as the 1300. So, I'm banking that the 3500 will be the same thickness as the 2150. My fingers are crossed. I may call seidio and get the battery size and confirm. Right now seidio has 10% off and free shipping for Dads Day. Approx $61 to the door. If it doesn't fit I may return it. This phone has become more expensive than 2 x-wives. OUCH! (promo code is DAD10) ;)

It won't fit. That's why it comes with it's own door. It's quite a bit bigger than the 2150 and A LOT bigger than the 1300.

The 2150 is about twice as thick as the stock... The 3500 is like a THIRD battery... How could it only be twice as thick as the stock? Hmmm

Decided to meet some of the demand and offer my modding to you guys.

I will do this on a per request basis for $40 including the case, and $20 if you mail me the case yourself. This includes shipping the case to you (you pay for shipping to me). If I grab the case myself, I simply run to the VZW store and pick on up, and this saves you on shipping to me.

PM me if you want me to do this. Just give me about 5 days or so turnaround time, as I have full time obligations elsewhere.

Re-read my post. The Seidio 1750 is as thin as the HTC 1300. Seidio said that the 3500 mAh is twice as thick as the HTC 1300 mAh battery. That stands to reason that the Seidio 3500 is as thick as the VZW 2150 mAh battery; because the 2150 is twice as thick as the VZW 1300 mAh battery. Ya get it now? :)

If I was in Vegas I'd be all in on this bet! 3500 mAh batt with the VZW 2150 door equals no more Dremel for me! Yay!!!!

Send it to me and I'll do it for $19.50 :) after all I am the creator of the process. Come to think of it I think I deserve a percentage of your profits. The method has been copyrighted by Ping Pong. Say 50/50?? ;)

No way man, I already submitted the patent request before I posted the pictures. I think I may qualify as it is just differ enough from all other patented cases for me to bank on it! YAY!

In all honesty, I'm only offering my dremel services to the community because some people have thought of this before but never had the desire to do it themselves. It's not rocket science, as it's just a hump that blocked by the stock sized plastic. A monkey would've thought of this had they run into this issue. Like I said, a bit of patience and a dremel will get you similar results, and I urge you guys to do this mod yourselves if you can.

Dr. I did mine and it works great but nowhere the quality of yours..kudos.

Makya, as long as it's functional, you just saved yourself from buying a new case or going without one... That's what counts... :)

Dr. You can patent it for an Android device... The other one referenced is a Blackberry Mod... However, I posted I was going to do this on like May 3rd before ALL Y'ALL!!! :p Although I do credit you, Dr., with visualizing the idea for me...

Now, back to the topic at hand... My battery is at 34% after being unplugged for 14H 39M... I'm wondering if I should let it run down lower before charging it, as it will only be the third charging cycle, and when I do charge it, should I power the phone off or leave it on?

No charge it..mine is at 24%that is awesome, go 2150..

So you're saying to charge it now at 34% and would you leave it powered on or shut it off?

I invented Dremel's, Robin... Hoo Hoo Hoo... To the Howiecopter!
You are my new best friend. O&A Party Rock.

Battery Widget by HTC...
21h 8m since unplugged... At 65% now...
27 Hours 26 minutes since unplugged... Now at 15%... Yeah, this'll do nicely...

You got 21+ Hours and only used 35% of the battery, but in the next 6 hours used up 50%...? What were you doing that was different and drained it at such a high rate?

9 hours or so I was asleep and the phone idle... I woke up at 65%, used the phone for 6-7 hours and used the remaining 50%...

I've been letting it run down to 14% before charging it, but only to gauge how much uptime I can actually get out of the battery with my average usage. Otherwise, I will eventually charge it every night... unless I can legitimately get 2 full days from 1 charge.

It doesn't matter either way as long as you don't completely drain the battery. That's when you strain the batteries most and potentially shorten their life.

holy crap did you make that case? wow. does that case with the 3500 extended battery door?

Thanks

I'm sure you can do the same to the case for the 3500 battery, but I don't have that battery. So, tough to say. If anyone with the battery wants me to try to mod a case for them, let me know. I'll need you to send me the battery door, though.
