HTC Connect - Sony BDPS-5500 Miracast-why am I unable to connect the two?

HTC Connect - Sony BDPS-5500 Miracast

I am unable to connect HTC One M9 to a Miracast device, a Sony Blu Ray player model BDPS5500. Both devices have latest available software. The phone recognizes the device, and they attempt to link, but it times out without connecting. Any advice?
