Htc desire 626 won't turn on, red flash when plugged in

My HTC desire 626 won't turn on. When plugged in to charge the notification light flashes red. Is the phone dead or is there a way to save it?

How long has this been going on?

Leave it plugged in and untouched for at least two hours, then try holding the power button for at least 10 seconds.

Simple step #1 plug charger into the device but not the power source . Step #2 Hold volume down & power buttons until you get a on screen notification showing that your battery has 0% or until phone turns on and takes you to multi option screen . Once that takes place , while still holding buttons down , plug charger into power source . If you got the 0% on screen notification , unplug charger plug back in problem solved, multi option page , use volume down key to highlight reboot , select reboot , problem solved .

my htc desire 626 is plugged in the charger the orange light is on but the pecentage of my battery after an hours is still the same can you tell me what is the problem
