HTC Inspire and Ice Cream Sandwich???

It's actually up to HTC. They're the ones that have to customize it for the Inspire. I'm hoping (dreaming:p) that we might get it since the Gingerbread update was so screwed up. But then I'd be afraid they would screw that one up, too. The Inspire's birthday is in Febuary, so ICS would be a nice gift:D

I don't think ICS will hit the Inspire. Inspire is only a single core processor. Out of everything that I have read, The ICS is designed for dual processor phones... Maybe the Vivid will see this.

CM 9 will hit the inspire in a couple months. That is confirmed. That is probably the only way we are gonna get ICS

Google has said ICS will work on any phone running Gingerbread. HTC may not want to use resources to do that, but ICS will run on it. In fact, a person has already got ICS running on Desire HD (the Euro version of Inspire) but note it doesn't work all that well yet.
HTC may get around to doing it, but it would no sooner than Q2 2012. Therefore, you must root your phone to get ICS anytime soon.

XDA for Desire has some alpha builds out with everything except BT, Camera and Hardware Acceleration working. I might check in January to see how the builds are doing.

The builds on xda are progressing rapidly. From day to day lot of improvements and we should be see a useable rom in no time I am sure.

I have a Nexus S 4g that is a single core phone that has been running ICS since mid December and is flawless. And no it is not rooted; it is my company issued phone.

Your phone is Samsung. At one time HTC publicly stated the they will not have ICS for any single core phones. Idk if they have reversed this, but time will tell.

Since it is apparent we will not get ICS, what are the chances we get Sense 3.5 and that cool lock screen? Since it came out on the Desire HD i dont see why we shouldnt get it any day now
