HTC Inspire Vs. Motorola Atrix

No No Im not comparing these two beautiful phone against each other, all I want to know is what made you choose the HTC Inspire over getting the Atrix? I bought my Inspire yesterday and love it but still thinking and wondering if I made the right decision. Oh and i work for AT&T so Im looking at phones all day.

The Atrix is a marvelous idea and I was impressed with it, but I guess at the end of the day I don't really need my smartphone to be that "smart" yet. 99$ is a bargain, and by the time I upgrade someone may have integrated that power into a more spartan solution.

there is nothing like HTC quality...the build of the atrix seems kind of cheap. I put the demo model of the phone on our demo wall and i was telling myself that customer who buy this are definitely going to need a case! One drop on asphalt and the plasticy back of the atrix will break. the HTC has a better build and can withstand more punishment

I picked the Atrix over the Inspire. I think it's worth the extra $30 I paid, ha. And yeah, I would have paid the extra $100 if I had to as well.

Side by side, both phones BNIB and the atrix was running circles. I hit the menu and my apps would instantly show. With the Inspire, it wasn't slow, but I definitely noticed the difference between the two. Also, I like the feel of the Atrix in my hand more than the Inspire.

IMHO, the Inspire is a slightly downgraded EVO, sans the front facing camera & tv-out.

Your certainly entitled to your opinion, but I think its more of an upgrade to the EVO.

From most of the hardware to all the benchmarks it appears to be much closer to the Thunderbolt than the EVO -other than the tv-out & FFC.

Quadrent:
TB 1987
Insp 1662
EVO 1119

Smartbench:
TB 1512 1088
Insp 1349 977
EVO 844 736

To be honest I have both of them and I really like the HTC only for the size of the screen and the camera, other than that the Atrix beats the Inspire hands down. I kind of feels its a money issue for some people who are purchasing the Inspire. People of feel the atrix and lapdoc/media doc isnt worth the money are going to go with the Inspire and find ever reason why the Atrix isnt as all of that instead of going with facts. there is no way possible anyone can say that the Inspire runs close to what the Atrix is running, yes it is a fast/smooth running phone but not that fast and smooth. I guess at the end of the day its to each its own. just my 2 cents oh and by the way Im keeping both of mine :)

I haven't read the entire thread but I will offer this observation;

I have had the Inspire since release day, LOVE it (battery life is aggravating but that's more on me than anything...I use a lot of apps.) Today, for giggles, I went into my AT&T store to get hands on with the Atrix...the specs and everything associated had me digging the idea of it.

I was, in a word, disappointed.

I held the phone in my hand and it just felt...cheap. I can't really explain it but when I held it in one hand and my Inspire in the other the Inspire just FELT like a high powered mini computer that could handle all my multi-tasking, social, phone and email needs. The Atrix just felt...again...cheap by comparison. I can't explain it any more than that...the words escape me right now...but that's what I took from it.

Ive tried them both. Had dead pixels on my Inspire. Didnt not like that. I really did like HTC Sense though. But the speed of that Atrix just kills the Inspire. The Atrix does seem to be solidly built. I like both phones but I give the edge to the Atrix.

I had both as well and you cannot beat HTC build quality as others have stated. But I did see at times my Inspire would lag having to load at times. Loved the screen of the Inspire but to type using Landscape mode was a little to big especially with the space bar so far to the left, and by no means do I have small hands.
The Atrix is fast!! I'm not a huge fan of Motorola but I am impressed. The only thing I can say is that the battery cover is plastic which feels cheap but not when it is attached to the phone. But also Blackberry battery covers are plastic as well. Doesn't bother me since I'm gonna be using the OtterBox Commuter case anyways.

I stopped by the AT&T store yesterday to check out the Atrix. I have to agree with others on the build quality, it did indeed look and feel "cheap". The speed when flipping around menus and the web seemed the same as my Inspire. One thing that really surprised me was the screen. The screen wasn't nearly as crisp as I expected it to be. I can't put my finger on it, but the lower-res larger screened Inspire seemed sharper to me. It was almost like the Atrix had a 60Hz refresh rate and I was under florescent light effect to it. Other than the massive battery, I decided I won't be turning in my Inspire for an Atrix. Score a win for HTC.
