So I don't mean to sound impatient. But can someone explain to me why it's going to take HTC 90 days to get lollipop. While the LG g3 is getting it within the week. And S5 probably in December.

Because they're different phones.

And they want to get it done within 90 days. That doesn't mean it will actually take 90 days.

I would rather them take a little extra time to make sure their version is rock solid instead of rushing it out with bugs that require patches to be pushed/downloaded later.

Carriers will delay the hell out of it anyway. New OS = new opportunities to bloat it up.

I'm betting that unlocked/dev edition phones will get 5.0 and Sense 7 next month

So funny...every time there is a new version of Android, you see people for months chomping at the bit to get the upgrade, followed by the rollout, followed by months of posts about how the upgrade screwed up peoples' phones.

Personally if I had a choice I would never take the upgrades. As soon as I get my phone set up just the way I want and working perfectly....here comes an upgrade and messes everything up. I can't think of one that actually gave me anything of any value.

Agreed on all points!

I'm exactly the opposite, upgrades have been nothing but beneficial for any phone I've owned

If you are lucky enough to have a AT&T version like me, they will release the update for a day or two, pull it and you will never hear another word about it. Thanks AT&T...you guys rock. (cough)

Digitalhigh has a Verizon GPE ROM working 100% over at XDA.

I dusted off my old nexus 5 and got lollipop on and it wow I'm really impressed. New lease of life for that phone and I'm actually really tempted to put my sim in it and start using it again. Lollipop therefore can't come soon enough to my m8 for me! Excited to see what HTC do, I'm hoping they go even more towards stock android

After using lollipop on my Nexus 7, I'm ready to use stock Android lollipop on my M8

Every time there is a new OS, by the time my current phone of choice gets it, I'm already shopping for a new device that already has the new OS installed. Haha

Disagree. Would rather accept a few bugs and just get a patch a few days later.

That's IF they send out a patch a few days later. We've all experienced bugs that took them months to fix with patches. I'd rather wait a couple weeks and have a really solid version pushed, than have the latest rushed out too soon and potentially have to wait for fixes that can come in either a couple days, or a couple months.
