HTC M8 'people has stopped unexpectedly'

Hi

I've got an repeating error message that I can't shift:

'People has stopped unexpectedly. an error report will be sent to HTC ....'

When I click on close, the message just pops up again, making it almost impossible to use the phone. Can the people app be disabled or removed (and if so, can it then be reinstalled)?

Hopefully not too major, but it's the first fault i've had on what I thought was a great handset.

Any suggestions appreciated

Try Settings, Apps, All, People, select Clear Cache, then Power Off and Restart the phone.
If no go, get back to us for more suggestions.

Thanks - unfortunately that hasn't sorted the problem. Has there been an update in the last few days that might have caused this? I've exhausted all my possible fixes - going to try a factory reset if all else fails.

Welcome as a new member.

Try Force Stop, Clear Cache and Clear Data, followed by a reboot.
If no go, try Safe Mode, to test whether a third-party app is causing trouble.

But it would also be worth posting in the M8 forum, where other users may have encountered this.
