Morning

I have deleted the music folders from my internal and external drive, so it does not show any albums, songs etc.

However when I go into Player Pro or the Music app there are still songs, artists albums listed.

There is no option to clear cache in either app.

Can anyone help ?

Cheers in advance

Welcome to Android Central! Are the songs that the apps display the same ones you deleted, or are they left over?

To clear the app cache and data, are you going to Settings>Apps, selecting the music player, then tapping Storage, and then Clear Cache/Clear Data?

Many thanks

I have done that, but there are still albums and songs listed, when I try to play them it's an incompatible format.

Any other ideas ?

Many thanks

But do you know if those remaining songs are ones you deleted using the file manager?

Keep in mind that the music app will show you any music files stored anywhere on the phone, as long as there isn't a ".nomedia" file in that same directory. This is why your Ringtones and Notifications usually show up in the music list as well. The songs or albums you're seeing might be related to some app, and therefore the files themselves may be in a directory associated with that app. Use your file manager app to look through all available directories and subdirectories for those songs (or use the search function in the file manager to look for the filenames). If your file manager doesn't have a search function, install a 3rd party one like Total Commander.
