HTC One 2 aka HTC M8 rumor round-up: camera, specs, release date and design

This seems like a really strange decision, they are effectively decreasing screen size. Do people hate the soft keys or something? I don't really understand why they'd do this, the current layout is better IMO.

Have there been any rumors about the screen resolution of the new model? The only reason I can think for using that design is that they can use the identical screen from the HTC One while getting rid of soft keys (google request?). I guess the chassis would also be really similar, minus maybe the new camera/LED cuts on the back.

Honestly, I'd much rather them leave it as is (w/ softkeys) or increase the screen size just slightly by removing/moving the HTC logo.

They're going to have to wow with other new features (awesome camera??), otherwise it seems like they're only going to lose more customers. Myself included.

I'd rather the on screen buttons, just as they seem to be going with, but I'm not a fan of the black HTC bar. Remove that and have the overall size of the device smaller. That'd be better.

This last one looks a lot better but I don't know if that is a black bezel or onscreen buttons

Someone pointed out that the black bezel is semi-transparent (you can see the wallpaper through it). So it still seems like we have on screen buttons.

Your right and that is awesome news. Hopefully this is the real one because I will be disappointed to see the other concept will disappoint me.

It's really hard to guess. HTC really loves their logo on the front screen and my past HTC phones prove it.

I'm with you guys though it does look much better without the HTC on their

These renders look pretty much the real deal to me (third one is a case which is available online)

I wish it is small enough for one handed operation ,also that HTC logo on the bottom is taking a bit too much space 😕

If those renders are anything to go by the new official Desire 8 render looks the same matching the bottom bezel featuring the logo. Also the side bezels don't look if at all smaller than the One here which is a shame. I hope HTC proves us wrong soon.

Just a though with the m8 and the dual lenses, maybe it does sorta what Apple did and takes 4 random quick shots and combines them for a better low light photo?

That's a phone I would buy. I have a feeling it's not real though. Let's keep out fingers crossed

Ughhh which one is it. Is that black bar where hte One's buttons were still there with just HTC? And now the onscreen buttons make it seem pointless. Not only this way are we still facing the ****ty bezel everywhere, but the on-screen buttons are taking up screen real-estate as well...I really do not think HTC is that stupid to do that though. The newer leaks without the black bar and just the screen right after the speaker looks 100 times better.
