Htc one 4.2 play store missing

Hello I got my HTC one 802w dual sim I checked for update and it said 4.2.2 was available so I did the update and now my play store is missing from the phone, As anyone had the same problem and if so how did you fix it. THANKS

Go to Settings, Apps, and search for Google Play Store. Do you see it?

You downloaded the APK via your phone's browser and when you tried launching it you got no connection? I just want to know exactly what you did.

After downloading apk i launched the play store app it open up but could not see or download any app because it just said NO CONNECTION.

Reboot your phone and try again. Could you please post the link you downloaded the APK from.

4.3.11 is the latest version of the Play Store.

Sign out of Google and re-sign in. I had a NO CONNECTION error after installing a Google play APK once.

Sounds like you have a dual sim HTC One which is meant for the Chinese market, which do not have Google Play Store. You initially must have had your handset come rooted and Play Store installed by you or someone else. When you updated your handset you lost your root and Play Store app.

Go to your apps menu (not the desktop), and swipe down. That should display two small icons, Search and Play Store.

I think your right so that means I have to root the phone, but I hear that people are having problems doing it.
