Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

I did another factory reset and I still have a problem but its far more consistent now. The issue actually appears to be due to the speakerphone automatically going to ON when I make or answer a call. When speakerphone is on the proximity sensor is not functional (understandable) so the issue is actually why the speakerphone appears to default to on rather than off. Any ideas?

Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

Don't know if it helps, but it seems in my case that after 4.4 the problem stopped.
At least I haven't noticed it yet (not 100% sure, but it's been almost a month with KitKat), while in 4.3 it was often.

Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

Ok I guess I will just have to wait for 4.4 to arrive and hopefully this will fix the issue.

Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

Just to add the 4.4.2 update did not fix the issue I was seeing. I removed the Chrome browser and the issue has gone.

4.4 update fixed this for me even though they have pulled this update in the UK ! Occasionally I've had sporadic battery life which is weird, drops from 100% to 88% within minutes then levels off normally ,anyone else had this happen ?

Same here! 4.4.2 kitkat is killing my experience!

I use my phone for urgent business purposes and I can't tell you how many times I've been on the phone - seen it flash - I pull it away from my ear only to realize several of my emails were Archived/Deleted or something else entirely (like airplane mode being activated)!! >:(

This is extremely upsetting because it can mean a loss of a client.

Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

-It seems that if I left my last call on speakerphone, than the phone automatically picks up with speakerphone on for my next call - which is stupid - just saying.

Re: After 4.3 Update Proximity Sensor Issue

I hope it's not the Chrome browser... it's the only one I use. If this is another cause of the problem (besides using the speaker phone, which switches the setting to default for speakerphone), than HTC needs to fix this fast.
