HTC One camera focusing issue?

Just a little update guys, HTC have given me an RMA and are collecting it via courier tomorrow... im using a spare HTC 8x at the moment as my backup phone, have to say, the camera is already 100x better haha :)

hey guys, as promised, an update... just checked the HTC online return status and it has been returned to me (shipped today!).... the interesting bit is, HTC charge you ?25 for a "no-fault-found" return, as I haven't been charged, I can only assume the device has been replaced / repaired because of the camera! Hopefully when it arrives tomorrow I will give it a try out, and report back!

Let us know if you can if any of the software was updated during the repair.

I have just spoken with HTC because I couldn't wait... apparently the device has been repaired. They have fitted a new camera module and done a full hardware reset for me... which is nice. The engineer actually let slip they have had at least 2 other warranty repairs this week with "unsuitable photo quality"... I guess the shortage of the chips and the natural of the new technology isn't yielding a great success rate! Will keep you posted...

as promised an update.... they replaced the camera module and some other gaskets and bits and bobs... anyway.... its a little better, but not brilliant... pretty disappointed to be honest... tough call, but I think I am going to sell it... its a shame cos its a great device but the camera is important to me.... so im left with the choice between an S4 (google play edition) or the Nexus 4.... decisions decisions....

I'm not sure I see any blur. I'm viewing this on my HTC one screen though. Could you point it out?

Wait for the update to 4.3 I'm pretty damn sure all of these foibles are with the software not hardware. Dpesnt matter how many MP a camera has in low light it doesn't make the camera automatically go pink and the focusing/WB issue is definitely software. It's not hardware for a camera to completely overexpose a subject. Just wait for a update. If you still don't like it. Sell it.

I've had my Sprint HTC One since launch and a couple of weeks ago my camera started taking blurry pictures regardless of settings or lighting. A factory reset didn't help. I just sent it in to HTC for repair yesterday.

I have the same issue with PNC Mobile app. Only my wife's EVO 4g will work now. IS there a fix for this?

I got my HTC One m7 in January of 2014. My wife got the same phone the same day. Sometime in April it started taking blurry pictures, but my wife's phone still took beautiful pictures and it had the same software version. I searched this issue and most of the responses were annoying people advising on how to focus the camera. Finally I called AT&T and they determined I needed a replacement. Just got my new phone and once again it is taking beautiful pictures. if you have this issue don't wait for a software upgrade because it isn't going to fix anything. Call before your one year warranty is up and get it replaced.
