These are taken from at where I live (UK). Very pleased with the quality. One of my friend even thought they were taken using a proper camera xD

Smurf Orgy in the back of my Jeep resulted in this... Hope it doesn't rain any time soon.

If the lighting is decent, yeah it does.

Guess i should try taking some pictures outside then. I did some sequence shots at a trampoline park last week they didnt turn out to well and the place was quite well lit

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

Here is a picture of the recent baseball game I went to

At first I thought this shot looked nice, but then I noticed that none of the text was very sharp on the huge billboard signs. That's a little disappointing. But the color is quite nice. I'm torn on this camera. Some of the night shots have been amazing. Some macro shots of flowers have been too. But then there is this and the recent post of the street shots where the signs weren't sharp even though they were close by, and I start getting disappointed. Not sure what to make of this camera.

Well, the people in the foreground are pretty sharp. The camera has an f2 lens, which, even with a small sensor, doesn't provide infinite depth of field. To get focus on a close object and a distant object is just not a reasonable expectation of any camera, let alone a phone camera. If the shooter had focused on the billboards, they would be sharp, but the people in the foreground would be blurred. That is just the way photography works.

I think it is a very good photo. The only issue you could make is choice of focus.

Another none edited nor filter aside from a slight crop...

I"m not dumb.. I know how photography works. This goes beyond that. The text on the huge billboards should be sharper then it appears even with the foreground being more of the focus. In the second example with the cars, the signs arent't that far away at all and roughly in the same focal point and yet they still aren't that sharp or readable. The same can be said in another thread between pics of text in a book where the text wasn't as clear as the S4 shot. There have been some great shots posted, but this camera definitely shows some weaknesses as well as strengths. Still, I"m leaning towards it for the nighttime capabilities. But there are trade offs.

Sorry, you are wrong. Look at the players on the field. They too are out of focus. You saying that they sign should be sharp despite the focus being in the foreground is baseless and wrong.

Edit - and now I have gone back to find the car picture you are talking about - if it is the one with the red and yellow "Labour" sign on the left, you are wrong there too. The focus in that shot is extreme right front of the frame, and looks to be a poor choice of focus for the shot, but clearly it was. The further forward the focus, the more shallow the depth of field. You can't judge the camera performance by trying to read signs on random photos outside the depth of field.

I think a lot of shots that people criticize they don't realize that the camera was improperly focused for the subject or are trying to impose some infinite dept of field requirements on the pictures that just doesn't make sense.

I'm not going to keep arguing with you so we'll just have to agree to disagree. But thanks for your feedback. I still think this camera has short comings, but I also feel it still may be worth it anyway for other aspects of the camera (great low light and macro shots from what i see) as well as other aspects of the device itself.

I am not arguing with you. I am correcting you. There is an important difference. You can continue to disagree with me but you will continue to be wrong. Go look at the macro of the flowers a few pages back. Why aren't you complaining the background is blurry? It is the same situation.

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

Wow, that is pretty impressive. Hard to be entirely objective due to different amounts of light in the 3 images, but the One stands up remarkably well - I actually think it's better than the RX100 image in this instance. Yes, there is some blowing of the whites but hardly surprising.

Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got :D

Completely unedited picture of one of my girlfriend's kittens. :)

I'm really not great with the One's camera. Think I saw a camera tips & tricks guide somewhere, though. I might have to take a look at that.
