Although my images from the HTC One default camera app are typically in-focus, they can lean towards "soft". Also I wondered if Camera Awesome could resolve issues where I could not get the camera to maintain focus on the desired object. (I've only used the stock camera and Camera FV-5 on the HTC One and both have reproduced the problem.)
Camera Awesome has a LOCK focus/exposure mode, where in-theory, any focus or exposure issues are created by me since I control them before taking the shot. I've been very pleased on the first day with the app. BUT, although some of the clarity and lighting creates stunning images I can't give it a 100% endorsement, THE APP HAS CRASHED NUMEROUS TIMES.
As-Taken, no cropping. Lock-Focus/Exposure (I've limited the set to images taken > 2 feet... usually even the default app does macro perfectly)
I lock it in scene normal mode (press on hold at the spot you want to expose for) then switch over to hdr and take the shot. Unfortunately it locks focus there too, but that is usually ok since the DOF is so deep..
So far the only other mode I've tried this with is night mode. I have been meaning to try the other scene modes (like backlit etc) to see how they fair but so far even at night the scene normal mode works for this better than night mode...
You all are rockin' the images here! A few more from me... (Trying to force myself to use the phone cam more but usually I'm in dslr mode)
Re: HTC One Camera Pictures : Show us what you got
Off topic but Avast keeps showing a virus on this page. Only page 46 in this topic. All other pages on this forum and this topic are fine. I've received the alert 6 times on this page alone in two days.
The wide-angle front camera is awesome. I loved the one on the 8X and the One has the same quality. It's a shame reviewer don't take this kind of little details into account. I don't use the FCC much but when I want to take a group shot, it's great to have it.
Every smartphone on the market should have a wide-angle front facing camera. PERIOD.
