HTC One for ATT backup available on Google Play

Just saw this earlier today. Am wondering if it can replace apps like Helium or Titanium Backup. Also, doesn't Google already backup and auto install your apps as well? (I saw a post just before Google I/O started that they've added "App Data" sync to their list of services). I believe Google saves Wifi spots too.
