HTC One internet problems

Yeah the problem turned out that straight talk turns your data to 2g after you hit 2.5GB.Supposed to be unlimited but the fine print tells you its not, after i put new mins on my phone its back to 4G speed.

i would get one of them free data management apps from the playstore.

not only will they keep track of your data to make sure you dont exceed the limit but you can make sure you are actually getting all the 2.5GB they've promised.

Yeah i read up on it last night.Someone did try to sue their asses, thats why its in the fine print now. They beat it because it really is unlimited but after 2GB it goes to E or 2G.So you still get internet you just dont want to use your internet anymore.Still better than a contract though.2GB is a good bit for a month.

i suppose... but they don't subsidise your phone either.

are their rates that much cheaper than getting att service without contract, for instance?

You have to pay full price for the phones unless you want to get a straight talk branded phone but i didnt like any of them.I was on my dads contract and for just me and him our bill was in the $100s and he didnt have internet.Everybody i know is switching to ST,for $45 a month even if they do throttle data its still cheaper and if u cant pay one month,or if u forget then you can add minutes on your time...i wouldnt switch back.

then it turns out in the fine print, that unlimited to them does not mean unlimited. i'm surprised no one has sued their asses by now.

In Australia, "unlimited" almost always never actually means unlimited :( par for the course over here. We get raped on mobile/internet costs and fine print BS.

If i was running off of that network i wouldve answered and said at&t,I am on straight talk data and straight talk can throttle it or slow it down.Yeah,it uses at&t's towers but it doesnt control my data.Sorry you didnt make yourself clear ha.Does it matter what towers im using?

Yes I had st on att and data was fast never had any problems with throttled data, I kept my phone on wifi when it was available, I didn't have to deal with st slowing down the data. My friend had St on sprint network and it's very slow. But he enjoyed paying 45 dollars. He ended up going back to vz he could not deal with the slow speeds.

The carries would lose customers if St ran unlimited data w/o throttling data. I guess they allowed st to use their network but after 2.5gb they have to slow your data. Also in the fine print you are expected to watch videos such as YouTube, Netflix, Hulu. etc via wifi
