HTC One M8 Camera Problem

There is a problem with my HTC One M8 back camera. When I was taking low light pictures, horizontal lines appeared and they would not go away. Then my battery life was draining really fast from 10% to 7%. Is this normal? Does anyone else have this problem with the back camera?
 
I also cannot figure out the settings since the update. Picture resolution is crappy ever since. I wish I could uninstall the the camera update.
 
The reality is you are asking for trouble using the phone under 10% anyway. It could go at any time at that point.

So thats why I get horizontal lines and my battery drains really fast when I take low light shots?
 
My point is even with iPhones they act squirrely under 10% with the camera, even at 20% it's been know to shut off when you open the camera app on older iPhones. Especially when batteries aren't properly calibrated. It isn't like it goes down 10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1-0. One moment it could be 10%, the next it could be 0 with no warning. It is difficult to complain about something a phone does at that low a level.

Huh? Did not know that happens on iphones too.

Well I guess that makes sense that my phone acts funny at low battery.
