Looking for some help out there. I just switched over from an iPhone to an HTC One (M8). I'm pretty good with electronics so I haven't been having to many problems except for one. If I use the built in Google now function, that is if I pull up from the bottom to launch google now, touch the mic button, I can ask Google to make me an appointment on my calendar and everything works fine. Here comes the problem. When I did this there was a card telling me that a newer version of Google now was available, which I downloaded. Now I have the added function of being able to say "OK Google" from any screen. If I now try to make an appointment I get an error message and Google says it can't make the appointment. Can't find any reason why so if anyone has run in to this please let me know. I can use the help.

Tried this just now on my M8 and seems to have worked fine. Have you gone into the play store just to make sure everything else is up to date?

It could be that the new Google Now Launcher is trying to find the Google Calendar app for some reason, which on a stock M8 you do not have unless you go get it (Stock HTC Calendar app is great). To test, try going to the Play store and installing Google Calendar, and see if it then works correctly. Also, you could try going into Menu-apps-all-GOOGLE and clearing cache on the app, basically resetting it.

I do have Google Calendar installed and I've tried clearing the cache. Still no luck, but thanks for the suggestion.

You have to go into Google now settings and train your voice before it works. Have you done this?

Google voice is trained and setup properly. Starting to think it's something else with the phone because Google + will not back up my photos I take with the phone. I have 6 pictures that it has been trying to back up for the past three days. Thinking my best bet might be to start over with a factory refresh and see what happens. Wishing I would have bought the GPE edition of this phone.

Try detaching the google account that is having trouble (deleting it) and re-add it to the phone. If you are also having trouble with uploading photos, resetting the account on the phone might jumpstart things.

You can convert to GPE, with some hackery and $25 to pay for sunshine s-off. It is not so easy as just a couple clicks though.

Thanks loraque, That took care of the photo backup issue however still can't get Google now to add calender events.

Nope that's not the problem. It fills out the card information correctly. Google now will tell me to touch the screen to confirm. When I do this the card changes to an exclamation mark with an option to send feedback and an option to try again. I've sent the feedback so hopefully I will hear something.

Here is a picture showing what gets filed out when I make the appointment and a picture that shows what happens when I try to confirm the meeting.Screenshot_2015-01-15-12-28-11.jpgScreenshot_2015-01-15-12-28-18.jpg
