Htc One M8 Kitkat vs Lollipop. Which one is better?

I was unsure at first, but I do like Lollipop better than Kit Kat now. I have two M8's and was able to update one and not the other. I can say with the phones side by side, Lollipop is definitely faster, and not because of the animations either. Apps run faster. Battery life drops for the first few days, then balances out. After a week, Lollipop has better battery life. My phone, right now, is at 75% after 36 hours of run time. AVERAGE screen on time is 6 hours, 35 minutes, with the maximum SOT for a single charge being at 9 hours 35 minutes.

How do you get such battery life? Since the Lollipop update my battery sucks

Lollipop works good for me. Kit Kat also worked well. I like the changes of Lollipop. Battery life is about the same for me all around which was usually good for 2 days before needing a charge based on my usage.

I did a factory reset but my battery life is much worse. I really don't understand what else can I do

I had a typo: it was 50% after 36 hours. Still pretty good though. I just do the basics, like drop down the quick setting menu and pop off mobile data, Bluetooth, and GPS when not needed. I'm not anal about it, but if I know I'm going to not use something for a couple hours, I'll turn it off. Oh, and I use Battery Monitor to let me know when it's done charging. An alert goes off at 100%, and I'll let it stay on for another ten minutes then unplug it. It seems to like that. Ironically, my wife leaves her junk on all the time and still gets through the day with 40% or more left. I think what's also important is making sure all your apps play nicely. I install apps one at a time so I can notice if they have bad battery behavior. There are several apps I've deleted because battery life tanked after they were installed, and it shows up in the battery manager as well. For example, TubeMate used to be bad and I would disable it until it was needed, but now it's fixed and I can le it be. The video app by Polycomm for video conferences still is bad, and it just sits in a disabled state most of the time.
