AC Question

This is the second time my phone has a low consistent ticking sound with a few silences in between. I don't know what causes it and the last time - just when I took it to Verizon, it stopped on its own (of course). Yesterday it started again. It doesn't matter if I'm in an app or the phone is locked, tick tick tick tick tick..... I rebooted, took the case off, - it keeps ticking and I can't figure out what it is.

In some earlier research people kept referring to the camera as being a culprit with a similar sound, but that's not it.

Re: Can't get rid of constant ticking sound on my HTC One M8

Does it sound like a hardware ticking sound (moving part) or software (when in call)? Also, is the device new or still under warranty? If it's still covered consider asking for a replacement if it doesn't go away.

Device is not still under warranty. I can't tell what it sounds like; hardware or software, just that it sounds like a watch ticking fast. Happens whether or not I'm in an app. Happens when I pick up the phone, unlock it and scroll through my screens and when I click on an app. Maybe its the speakers. Also, if I turn the volume all the way down, it still sounds the same.
