HTC One M8 multi-touch/double-tap issues

I am having problems with my HTC one M8's double tapping on instagram photos or while playing Don't touch the white tiles. But while waking up the phone there is no issue with double-tapping it. Instagram and Piano tiles are much more responsive on an iPhone. Is it just because of my screen protector or is it the phone? The rest of the phone is perfectly alright.
Would highly appreciate it if anyone would help. Really fed up of this.

I don't have any problems with double tapping anything.I do not have a screen protector
