HTC ONE M8 Not Charing and Won't Turn On

Hi All, my favourite phone has let me down..

It worked fine over the few days however my HTC M8 is completely bricked. It started when it drained naturally. I plugged it in and it charged to about 30%. Took it off charge and half hour later it turned itself off and won't turn back on or charge.

Also one of the cables used was smoking and getting hot - is the phone usb power board gone?

I have tried different chargers, power & volume up, down and both. I also used a RAVpower charger over the pas few days but can't see how that would have caused any damage..

Any ideas appreciated - just out of warranty
