HTC One (M8): Notification LED not working

Maybe I am the only one, but my notification light doesn't seem to have the 5 minute limitation. Yesterday it flashed for over an hour showing a missed calendar notice.

Hi- Just got off the phone with HTC regarding this issue with the M8 I got yesterday. If you disable the "Verizon" messages software and use the "HTC" messages software (for texts) it fixes the LED issue. For some reason the Verizon messages is inhibiting the LED light, but the HTC messages works fine.

I'm looking at getting this for Verizon, but don't plan to use the Verizon messaging app anyway. Anyone know if you have to use the HTC messenger, or would something like Handcent also work for notifications after disabling the Verizon one?

I had that problem, the led light didn't work for messages, mails, calls... So I disable them, turn off my device completely, turn it on again and activate led light to all again... It worked for me, now I have my led light functioning. Hope to help you. Bye!

Also had LED problem, hard reset phone and the problem was gone. However, when i disable lock screen no LED notifications again. In my case it seems if you have your phone set to no lock screen, you lose LED notification.

i also facing same problem on my htc desire 816 new...
the led works only while i m charging it...in the rest of the time it doesnt works...
if anybody has solution pls let me know...

Download notifier in the app store it does work. Also go to accounts and remove your HTC setup account. Once you got the led light to work uninstall

Hi please forgive me if you have resolved this. I had the same issue and changed phone but it was nothing to do with the phone. I had installed a custom lock screen and it was this which was preventing the led from working.
You may wish trying to disconnect any custom bits you've installed and that will fix it

I was having the same issue of my notification light not working either from day one, I had everything checked to have LED notification, however no go. After searching and searching I found https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jannux.switchledon LED Notifier On and it worked, I didn't have to factory reset which I was dreading.. Just wanted to post it in case it helps someone else, I found the information from a poster on xda developer. :D

Thank you, thank you!! This worked immediately. Finally no more disappointment with the LED not working.

Cannot thank you enough for this post! The LED Notifier On app worked like a charm. Wish I had seen this post a lot earlier...I wasted my time with a full factory reset to no avail. Thanks again!

Amazing. The hell I went through yesterday with Verizon and HTC was a all day process. Works great. Thank you much

I'm having the same LED problem, but I have the T-Mobile version. Had this phone for about 2 or 3 weeks and I've been very pleased...except for this issue, tried factory reset, did the tests but nothing, need help!

I had the same problem. Here is the fix.
1: Go to Settings
2. App manager
3. Scroll to ALL apps
4. Scroll down to Messages + (Verizon's Message app)
5. Uninstall updates & Diable

Once I did this my led and notifications began working just fine in HTC's messaging app. Apparently Verizon can't get it right with apps.

Is anyone else having this issue? I even went and swapped out my M8 for a new one this morning at the VZW Store and the new one still doesn't work.

No Notification LED for Text, Email, Calendar, FB, Nothing! The only time the LED lights up on both phones is when they are charging.

I have the notifications all checked in the display settings and in the apps themselves.

Has anyone else noticed this?
