HTC One (M8): Notification LED not working

Ok mine is doing the same thing and I have had my phone replaced and it is still doing it. I took it to Verizon they tested it and everything is ok on my end so they called the manufacturer and they said they r aware of the problem and r sending a update to hope to fix the problem

I had this problem with an older HTC phone. I downloaded another email app, which forced the lights and notifications to work. Uninstalled the second email app and all worked fine. Give a shot?

With the 4.4.3 update, in the Settings > Display and Gestures > Notification Light > Flash Notification, you can choose Always or When the screen is of. I notice that there is no more 5 minutes limit on led notification.

I would just like to add that I hope a software fix comes out soon!

This comes down to either a hardware issue or a software, both have been seen. You have to do the LED hardware troubleshooting online to see if it's your actual LED bulb, or if it's simply software. If it's software, lots of apps can be used to alert via your LED notification light. Although now I've found that other apps often conflict with the LED notification alert app. I use Power Toggle's "pulse light notification" and it works well to alert me with the LED light, although there are conflicts when I try to install SMS (awake/wakeup) apps to light up my screen for new messages... they cause the LED notification light to stop working as they must conflict with PowerToggle.

I went in to the Telus store and swapped out 3 different units, each one's LED light notifications NOT working right out of the box. So I had to keep a non-working one (as I did want only to keep the M8), and now I have to use an app to keep my LED notification alert lights working. And cannot light up my screen on new message.

How frustrating!

Just got my M8 2 days ago and am thankful for this thread. The program linked earlier fixed the LED notification problem, but I also am not getting any notification sounds. For those that had the problem and loaded the LED Notifier On app, are you getting sounds too or just the light?

For those that went the whole reset route to fix it, are you getting sounds?

Once and a while I'll loose notification sounds when I connect my Bluetooth. Resetting the Bluetooth connection works, but I don't have a persistent problem otherwise.

I normally have Bluetooth off when I'm home. But I toggled it a few times and still nothing.

Do you have your phone set to vibrate instead of ring? When the phone is set to vibrate a number of sound features (including notification sounds) are disabled.

No, phone is set to ring. I may just go the reset route.

Well it looks like it might just be a problem with the Mail application. I installed Enhanced Email and I'm now getting sound notifications. I never even bothered to check Gmail, but I'm getting sounds from that too.

EDIT: OK, I'm an ***** I guess. Turns out there's a separate check box to turn on notification sounds in the mail app. Didn't find that out until it still didn't work even after a full wipe. Oh well, hope my nandroid backup works. Good time to find out I guess.

I was having the same issue of my notification light not working either from day one, I had everything checked to have LED notification, however no go. After searching and searching I found https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=de.jannux.switchledon LED Notifier On and it worked, I didn't have to factory reset which I was dreading.. Just wanted to post it in case it helps someone else, I found the information from a poster on xda developer.

The Verizon update I received and downloaded today corrected this issue for me. I am now getting the LED with texts and email.

My at&t phone doesn't work either it lights up when it's plugged in but not when there's a message or missed call is have all the settings on and everything.

I did the same thing - updated to 4.4.3 and the notification works even better than before. Now the light stays blinking until I check the message instead of stopping after five minutes.

please help me I have a problem on my phone. each missed call is missed or Message or e-mail and other notification LED notification flicker why not ...? but after I test one by one all my life should look at the settings on all the LEDs are ON what the problem is ...? please for answers
